We’ve all been in that place where to make payroll or to replace that truck you need money “NOW”. These are some ideas for fast customer generation that you can likely do yourself or get done very cheaply and quickly.
Many of these can be implemented and getting dollars for you the same day. No, seriously… this works.
If you have a business and read through these, it should eliminate the voice in the back of your head going, “None of these will work for me”.
If you think none of these could ever work for you, I want to hear from you. You may be completely correct, but I’d love to hear about a business that they won’t (you have to have an actual business and a tiny bit of operating income and not already closed your doors). Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can talk. Also, you can go to the website at plainwhitetshirtmarketing.com, look up in the corner and call the office and we can talk.
If you go to the trouble of doing that, I’ll listen and give you a road map for making at least one of these work for your specific company, whether it’s Taxes or Car Washing, I bet we can come up with one that will make you money this week (… and NO, I won’t charge you a thing).
OK, Here Are The Ways To Get Leads Now!
Pay per click “sale” campaign.
Develop a “sale” on a low cost item or service and put it out at a crazy low price for a limited time. Do a pay per click campaign around it and send them to a landing page that can take their order or at least capture their information for “future great deals”.
The low cost item should be looked at as a Net Zero cost customer experience generator and have some sort of after the sale up-sell that would benefit the customer based on need.
Create an Affiliate Program
Set up an affiliate program where others can promote and sell a product or service package then you can give them commission. This program has to be fairly structured and also have supporting rules and marketing material. Depending on what you sell, an affiliate program can skyrocket revenue in a very short period of time.
Host a Facebook contest and get contact information for the people who participate.
Example: Win a Home Depot gardening package worth $100 for the best example of a method that looks great but naturally keeps unwanted animals out of your garden…
(Goes to FB page and also the groups you are involved in)
Post in free classifieds with special deals
This works great for older populations and those who need deals. Maybe you can do a special low-cost package of your services. You can also move sitting inventory or scratch and dent equipment. If you sell services, you can even dust off older presentations and charge a small amount for them in an e-book.
Advertise on LinkedIn or Facebook for a Consulting Partner
This works great if you are rolling out or developing something new. You can get names and contact info from people in the niche you are targeting. This is one where you should have a real job for helping evaluate a new program or service you are rolling out. However, it can be super effective in later upselling. (If this is making your head hurt, just email me and I’ll give you greater details). Wouldn’t it be great if you had the head of a company in your largest niche as a “consultant” and they referred people to you constantly?
Offer a free webinar
Go into your social media groups (you are active members of groups right??!!). Look at the questions being asked frequently in the past two weeks. Offer a webinar that addresses these questions (can be a week later). Capture all the registrants information and then follow up with all of them in person to see if you can help them even more.
Host a learning event with a prize
This is more involved but works great and is super for higher-ticket items. Use your email list or partner with someone for the event that has a larger list. Call people and invite them and leave flyers with your niche prospects (this still works today). Give them the top three reasons why whatever you do or sell will make their lives better and answer questions. Have ALL of your people come and help you (technical question… great, here’s Sally, the head of our install team).
Offer Gift Certificates for half price
Offer 50% gift certificates. People can even transfer them and use them for up to a year. This allows for these to be really offered as gifts and for you to schedule them out. If you are a massage therapist they can give them to friends. Roofer, fine, give them 2 years to redeem. Cleaning service, people can give them for housewarmings and elder support.
Hold a special “Secret After-Hours Sale or Event”
If you have a location, you can have prospects come in and select inventory. You can even partner with non-competitive companies to create a “yard-sale” environment. This can both move inventory and develop trial use. Don’t think that just because you don’t have inventory, this won’t work. You can offer services and have mini-consults for free or cheap.
Offer to partner with a non-competitive company that targets your customers. Either offer your services at reduced prices for them to “re-sell”, a “finder” fee structure, or co-op marketing efforts. This works great for service contractors that can sell “next steps” when they finish one job.
These are only a few of ways you can generate leads right now. If you would like to see some very specific applications of how some of these methods (an more) were put in place by real companies, check out the free E-book, 50 Simple Lead Generation Tactics for Small Businesses.
